What Music Means to Me

What music means to me is an escape from real life. The time I listen to music is when I am doing my homework and I don’t any one to bother me. I also listen to music when I am going somewhere far and I don’t want to fall asleep. I sometimes also listen to music when I am about to play a soccer game to clear my mind. I listen to Eminem majority of the time because I have been listening to him for a long time and I enjoy his music. I enjoy his music because of the message behind his songs. The genre of music that enjoy listening to is rap because of the message that the artist is trying to get across. The reason I enjoy rap is because sometimes the message that they are trying to get across is something that has happened them in real life or has a personal meaning to them.

Problems & Struggles

Some problems that students face is time management. Most of the students want to hang out with their friends after school, but if they do they wont have enough time to finish their homework. Especially on the weekends when student just want to relax and not worry about school and end up not doing their homework. This is a big problem because eventually they would fail the class and not get enough credits to graduate. Another problem some student face is doing their homework. They would tend to wait until the last minute to try to rush and finish their homework in homeroom. They also struggle doing their homework because they do not understand what they have to do and do not ask questions in class so that the teacher could explain it to them. This problem would eventually lead them into having a bad habit of not asking for help when they need it.

The Most Interesting Person in the World

The person who I think is the most interesting is my dad. He is interesting to me because he has faced a lot of struggles through out his life. He had little to no education growing up because he had to drop out to find a job and get money for his family. Not having an education didn’t stop him from finding a good paying job later in his life. He also had to leave his family in Mexico when he was about 18 years old and come to the United States to find a job to help my grandparents out.  He had to cross the border illegally with people he didn’t know. When he got here he didn’t have a place to stay and had very little money with him. Now that he has lived in the Unites States for a long time he wants to go back to Mexico once I finish school.

My Anti Drug

My anti drug is playing soccer and playing video games. I play soccer when I am feeling stressed or feeling angry. By playing with people it allows me to take my mind off any problem I am dealing with. Even if I get mad by playing because people are getting on my nerves I tend to forget about it within a couple of minutes. Playing soccer allows me to enjoy what I like to play and have fun at the same time. I am also getting in shape instead of getting stressed out and not doing things correctly. My other anti drug is playing video games. Video games also allow me to forget my real life problems and take a break from what ever I am doing. When I play video games I really don’t care for what is happening in my everyday life and focus on playing the game. Although the problem is still there when I finish, it gives me a time to relax.

An Inconvenient Truth

What I learned from watching “An Inconvenient Truth” was that everyone has a major part in global warming. I also learned how dramatically countries can be affected if some of the glaciers melted. I knew that global warming was a problem and believed that it would take long for it to affect me but it will happen sooner than I believed. This means that future generations would probably not have an earth to live on for a very long time. What impacted me the most was how the sea levels would increase by 20 feet if Greenland and Antarctica melted. This would affect a lot of people in other countries that would be covered by water. That was kind of scary because it showed how eventually all of the countries would end up underwater and people wouldn’t be able to live on earth anymore. One solution that was discussed by Al Gore was to get rid of plants that released a lot of pollution into the atmosphere.
